IPRS

The Indian Placement Reporting Standards (IPRS) is a framework that aims at standardization of placement reports to make them more transparent and easy to understand, more comparable and reliable for making decisions. IPRS specifies the standard format in which the placement statistics will be reported across function, sector, and location. The aggregate statistics to be published include minimum, maximum, median and average salaries across every parameter, so that:

The standards require that placement data be audited by an independent auditor. Crisil offers this service, under the Business School Grading initiative- this is an effort to work towards greater transparency in the field of management education and in line with Crisil's aim to play an integral role in India's human skill development agenda. As auditor for the placement data, Crisil validates the information in the placement report with respect to remuneration, job function and location of the placement, through communication received from recruiters and ensures the presentation of the data in alignment with the Indian Placement Reporting Standards (IPRS).
